making a big profit from misery........
Dear Readers,
while doing research on the Temporary Disaster Housing(T.D.H.)project
i use google(90% of the time)and yahoo.
i spent a few days on this, on google yahoo(I have taken government
announcement and newspaper articles and garbage OUT)and the results are:
www.google.com
90% of listings are commercial !!!!****
05% non-commercial
04% educational
01% scams
---------------------------------
www.yahoo.com
are about the same but the commercial
listings are ranked first and if you have the time
to go past the thousand listing, you may find something.
--------------------------------------
**** i was embarrassed as a human, to
find out people are making a big profit from
other peoples misery.....
nether am I naive or born yesterday but the shear
scale was shocking....
well at least if this project gets some traction, i well be happy.

mission:
*****************************************************
dear readers,
a few months ago i came upon an article about temporary Disaster Housing that would last for 12-24 months, the article was trying to come-up with a solution to a post hurricane Katerina Disaster(I wish him the best in his project)and to my thinking was to complicated, it had solar power and other enmities that could be feasible for the U.S.A..
But what about the rest of the world?
As I live in a area(80%)prone to earthquakes, his idea spawned my idea of an open source type of finding solutions to problems that are to complicated for one person, many of these problems need multi-discipline knowledge and experienced minds.
the internet is great for this, there are thousands of professionals(active or retired)
to tap into.
the projects are for the GOOD of all peoples and will be free.
assumptions
1.all existing utilities(sewage, water, electrical, etc...)do not function.
2. transportation does not function
3. no communications(telcos, radio, TV stations, internet)
hence creation of emergency cooperation with international satellite
operators, creating standards for hardware and software.
4.creating management(personal, logistics,......).
5.creating supply "caches" around the world.
------------------------------------
Temporary Disaster Housing:
low tech
prefab
modular
community based(clusters of 15+)
non re-useable but recyclable
2 zones(per unit), 1 family and 1 private
toilets, showers, kitchens are not inside(communal model)
no built-in furniture because of variable cultures
plastic windows
weather and pest proofing, inside and outside
--------------------------------------------------------------
all of your input will be read by myself and if there good
workable ideas(drawings)and(or)comments I will post them.
we will have to find a freeware CAD program that will
work on windows version 98 and up.
